{Members of Community Policing Committees (CPCs) in Kamonyi and Burera districts have been urged to be characterized by high sense of integrity which is a major driver for effective community policing.}<\/p>\n

The call was made on January 26 during separate meeting held in Runda and Ruyenzi sectors in Kamonyi, and in Rusarabuye sector of Burera district.<\/p>\n

Chief Inspector of Police (CIP), Marcel Kalisa, while speaking to CPCs in Runda and Ruyenzi, commended their role in crime prevention.<\/p>\n

He appealed to them to strengthen their cooperation with security organs to ensure crimes in communities are jointly prevented or detected.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou play an integral part to make community policing success in identifying, fighting and preventing crimes. You should not slide\u2026 you should build on what has been achieved,\u201d CIP Kalisa told the CPCs.<\/p>\n

He asked them to be exemplary.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing exemplary is an ideal that every dedicated and focused leader should showcase if you want to win public trust and strong partnership,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

In Burera, Jean Marie Vianney Mwumvira, who is in charge of civil affairs in Rusarabuye, lauded Police\u2019s continued efforts and initiatives to fight and prevent crimes in the country.<\/p>\n

Mwumvira challenged members of community policing committees to put into actions the advice delivered to them to execute their policing duties effectively and improve safety in their communities.<\/p>\n

Boniface Sibomana, one of the CPCs in Rusarabuye said, \u201cThis meeting is very important, it reminds us of what the public expects from us, our role to supplement policing initiatives and make them successful to further make our communities and the entire country safer.\u201d<\/p>\n
