{Some of local leaders from Burera and Musanze district in Northern Province have started cutting trees in public forests to burn charcoal as their terms come to an end.
\n The matter was raised yesterday during a meeting that brought together the governor of Northern Province, the army, police and district officials.}<\/p>\n
Gitovu in Burera district and some areas of Musanze district were pointed as regions where local leaders have started ravaging state forests.<\/p>\n
The governor of Northern Province, Aime Bosenibamwe warned these leaders saying that mandate expiration doesn\u2019t mean behaving as they wish, running and working against the law. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe government continues to operate regardless of any reforms. Administrative structures in districts and security are present and active,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said that the malpractices of cutting government\u2019s forests were realized even before term expiration.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is why some local leaders including some sector and cell executive secretaries are imprisoned and another local leader at district level resigned,\u201d he said.
\nBosenibamwe appealed on leaders to be disciplined and promote citizens\u2019 welfare other than taking government\u2019s property illegally.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
