{The tour of Rwanda National Police (RNP) leadership to all its units countrywide continued on January 13 when the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Emmanuel K. Gasana met with commissioned officers in the City of Kigali and Bugesera District.}<\/p>\n
The visit is meant to deliver President Paul Kagame\u2019s New Year message and to further strengthen the policing performance of the units<\/p>\n
IGP Gasana reminded the offices that their performance should be characterized with \u201cextreme commitment and passion\u201d for their duties.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe President\u2019s message challenges to ensure we maintain the momentum and perform even better as well as maintain ethics,\u201d IGP Gasana told officers.<\/p>\n
He went on to say that currently police deals with both internal and external challenges that include emerging crimes like cyber, human trafficking, terrorism and radicalization.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Police commanders, you should master laws punishing these crimes and dwell on the principle of cooperation to know how they are committed and how to prevent them,\u201d the IGP said.<\/p>\n
He went on to highlight what the force has achieved in the past one year and challenged officers to ensure that 2016 is marked with higher progress than the previous years.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo achieve that, your daily operations should be characterized with complete sense of responsibility, carefulness, professionalism and driven by values,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The tour followed others in the Eastern, Northern and Southern provinces, as an annual tour to assess the execution of policing duties in units as a means to deal with the challenges and strengthen their performance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
