As the war in Syria enters its fifth year – with no signs of fighting coming to an end – millions are struggling to survive.<\/p>\n
This week a series of strong storms blanketed much of the country in snow. Syrians living in towns and villages – besieged by government forces and their allies – are facing starvation.<\/p>\n
The blockade of the town of Madaya near the Lebanese border, in particular, has become a focal issue for Syrian opposition leaders.<\/p>\n
They told the UN envoy this week they won’t take part in talks with the government until the siege there and in other areas is lifted.<\/p>\n
So, what can be done to help the millions of desperate Syrians?<\/p>\n
