\nI t was revealed yesterday at the launch of Girinka Week in Nyakarenzo sector where some of Girinka program beneficiaries also donated 4 cows as government officials provided veterinary drugs to the new and old beneficiaries. <\/p>\n
\u201cFarmyard manure is one of benefits gained from the Girinka program, improves soil fertility, productivity per unit area and therefore creating higher yields that ensure food and nutritional security. Long ago I used to buy milk but the situation has changed because now, after getting some for family consumption, I sell the rest,\u201d says Alvera Mukagahonga one of the beneficiaries. <\/p>\n
Th\u00e9oneste Mukarage, another resident says; \u201cFive years ago, I received a cow under the Girinka program. When the cow calved I provided a heifer to my neighbor. The second heifer helped me pay school fees for my children, construct a cows\u2019 shelters and renovated my house.\u201d <\/p>\n
The Rusizi deputy mayor in charge of social welfare, Emmanuel Nsigaye, said that cases of bribery in the Girinka program in Rusizie district are being investigated adding that they are strengthening the system of identifying potential beneficiaries and delivery processes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
