Salax<\/span> awards held its third annual Music Awards last night \u2014 and some of the country\u2019s biggest duo of course took the top prize for male and female artists of the year respectively. 
<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tom Close scoop the artist of the year award in a tight competition as Miss Jojo<\/span> picked up the female artists of the year trophy.<\/p>\n

Over 15 categories were competed for during the event graced by the minister of culture and sports Protais<\/span> Mitari<\/span>. He hailed the Ikirezi<\/span> Group, the organisers<\/span> of the awards for their initiative to recognise<\/span> creativity among artists in the music industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the government added me other responsibilities I was happy but I was more happy when they told me that I will be working with these artists of ours\u201d, he said, before handing over the prestigious awards to respective categories\u2019 winners.<\/p>\n

Below are the winners of the various categories<\/p>\n

Best Album 2010 : Impinduramatwara<\/span> by Riderman<\/span><\/p>\n

Best new artist 2010 : Knowless<\/span><\/p>\n

Best Producer 2010 : Lick Lick Studio Unlimited Records and Studio The Focus Production.<\/p>\n

Best gospel artist of the year 2010 : Dominic Nic<\/span><\/p>\n

Best Hip-Hop artist 2010 : Jay Polly<\/p>\n

Best Video2010<\/span> : Baza<\/span> by Tom Close.<\/p>\n

Best R&B artist 2010 : King James<\/p>\n

Best Teen Artist 2010 : Young Grace<\/p>\n

Best Afro beat artist 2010 : Kamichi<\/span><\/p>\n

Best Group artist 2010 : Dream Boys<\/p>\n

Best East African artists 2010 : GoodLyfe<\/span> Crew from Uganda<\/p>\n

Best Song of the year 2010 : Zoubeda<\/span> for Kamichi<\/span> and the The Ben <\/p>\n

Best female artist of the year 2010 : Miss Jojo<\/span><\/p>\n

Best male artist of the year 2010 : Tom Close <\/p>\n

Best collar MTN<\/span> tune song of the year : Bella by Dream boys and Kitoko<\/span>.<\/p>\n
