{"id":21629,"date":"2015-12-04T07:15:20","date_gmt":"2015-12-04T07:15:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/action-aid-international-rwanda-10-years-30-000\/"},"modified":"2015-12-04T11:43:23","modified_gmt":"2015-12-04T11:43:23","slug":"action-aid-international-rwanda-10-years-30-000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/action-aid-international-rwanda-10-years-30-000\/","title":{"rendered":"Action Aid International Rwanda: 10 years, 30,000 beneficiaries, 21 school sickbays and more"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{Action Aid International Rwanda (AAIR) has, over the last ten years, achieved a lot especially in transforming rural communities, empowering women and promoting education, all with an ultimate goal of fostering development. } <\/p>\n<p>The organization operating in five districts of Rwanda yesterday unveiled their achievements during a joint meeting between Action Aid International Rwanda management, district officials and beneficiaries of different projects.<\/p>\n<p>Uwamariya Josephine, the AAIR Country Representative has revealed that the organization has supported over 30,000 people to graduate out of poverty of who  19,000 are women.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have supported over 30,000 people, of who 19, 000 are women who benefited from  cash and trainings for their development. They currently have an income from their own projects and therefore less dependent, and the violence formerly thrown into their faces has greatly ebbed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 295 cooperatives of farmers and handcrafts associations are among the supported of whose members exhibited.<\/p>\n<p>Action Aid International Rwanda has started 8 kindergarten schools and one special room acting as girls\u2019 sickbay in 21 schools which the organization says have reduced the number of girls dropping out schools.<\/p>\n<p>Karekezi L\u00e9andre, the mayor of Gisagara, one of the districts where the organization operates, has hailed AAIR for their immense contribution to the rapid development of the district.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAction Aid helps us to complete long term activities within a short period of time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Twibanire Landrata, a member of a banana seeds production cooperative in Musanze, also supported by AAIR, says their households incomes and welfare have greatly improved and they will not relent engaging in diversifying their incomes. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur livelihoods have been improved, we own small domestic animals as some other benefits of our project.
