{Banana prices in the Eastern Province have increased from Rwf 50 to 150 per kg, following low production attributed to recent hailstorms, sending waves of worry among the residents. } <\/p>\n

Uwamahoro Annonciata, a businesswoman in Nyakarambi market of Kirehe district said that banana has been cheap compared to other crops as a result of good harvest in the region but prices have been however gone up. <\/p>\n

\u201cPeople rarely take banana foods because of the prices,\u201d she said.
\nSindayigaya Shabani, a resident of Mukarange sector in Kayonza district says the quality of bananas supplied is also of poor quality most of which is bought by Kigali middlemen. <\/p>\n
