{Palestinian man shot dead after stabbing policeman in the Damascus Gate area: Israeli police.}<\/p>\n

A Palestinian man was shot dead after allegedly stabbing an Israeli policeman in the Damascus Gate area on Sunday. <\/p>\n

According to Israeli police, the 38-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank ran towards two border police officers with a knife and wounded one before being shot.<\/p>\n

The Damascus Gate is the main entry point for Palestinians to the walled Old City of Israeli-annexed East Jerusalem.<\/p>\n

The latest attack raised the death toll to 103 Palestinians killed since early October. Twenty-one Israelis have also been killed after violence erupted in Jerusalem with tensions over the sensitive Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.<\/p>\n

Violence swiftly spread to the flashpoint southern West Bank city of Hebron, where hundreds of Jewish settlers live under Israeli army guard among 200,000 Palestinians.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the army shut down the Dream radio station in the city earlier on Sunday – the third private broadcaster in Hebron it has closed – after being accused of stoking the violence.<\/p>\n

An Israeli minister raised the threat last week of shutting down Palestinian public broadcasters too, alleging they were guilty of fanning the flames.<\/p>\n
