{"id":21338,"date":"2015-11-23T07:34:03","date_gmt":"2015-11-23T07:34:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rdb-scoops-national-tourism-board-award\/"},"modified":"2015-11-28T08:05:45","modified_gmt":"2015-11-28T08:05:45","slug":"rdb-scoops-national-tourism-board-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rdb-scoops-national-tourism-board-award\/","title":{"rendered":"RDB scoops National Tourism Board award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Rwanda Development Board has scooped a National Tourism Board award as the best exhibitor in the just concluded Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo held in Kampala on 20th November2015. } <\/p>\n<p>Rwanda stood out due to availability of relevant information and packages that were being offered to visitors and clear easily comprehensible visuals. <\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the award, Rwandan Ambassador in Uganda Frank Mugambage appreciated the acknowledgement of the great strides Rwanda has made in the sector and also emphasized the need to promote regional tourism. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe that there is great potential in promoting regional tourism and encouraging East Africans to travel and experience the member countries\u2019 tourism products,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>A key attraction for the expo visitors to Rwanda\u2019s stand was the cultural performances and tour operators who were offering several packages.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the joint marketing efforts for the East African region, members of the Rwanda private sector from 13 companies (hoteliers and tour operators) participated in the expo and got a chance to see Uganda\u2019s offering during a ten-day familiarization trip organized by the Uganda Tourism Board. <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Pearl of Africa Expo attracted 25 countries and 350 exhibitors.
