{"id":21179,"date":"2015-11-11T02:49:11","date_gmt":"2015-11-11T02:49:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/the-ceo-of-agaciro-development-fund-passes-away\/"},"modified":"2015-11-12T11:30:03","modified_gmt":"2015-11-12T11:30:03","slug":"the-ceo-of-agaciro-development-fund-passes-away","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/the-ceo-of-agaciro-development-fund-passes-away\/","title":{"rendered":"The CEO of Agaciro Development Fund has passed away"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning has proclaimed that Jean-Marie-vianney Kagabo, the Chief Executive Officer of Agaciro Development Fund has died.}<\/p>\n<p>Talking to IGIHE Amb Gatete Claver, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning has confirmed that he is no longer alive.\u201cIt is true that he has died.\u201dHe said.<\/p>\n<p>Vianney Kagabo, Director General of Agaciro Development Fund unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, 11 November 2015, at Aghakhan Hospital &#8211; Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>Certified Public Accountant, Vianney Kagabo served at the Task Force that set up the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda (iCPAR) and was a co- founder of the Institute. He served in various capacities thereafter including iCPAR Governing Council Member 2013-2015. <\/p>\n<p>His colleagues regarded him as a living example of integrity, institutional loyalty, independence and public service dedication, a tireless worker and rigorous professional. He was perceived as a prudent man but also firm on his convictions and decisions, affable and accessible. He was ever jolly, cracking jokes at every twist and turn. <\/p>\n<p>CPA Vianney Kagabo&#8217;s grew up in Uganda and Kenya. His career in Accountancy started at Kenya Institute of Administration and Strathmore College of Accountancy where he qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). <\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tFrom 1985 to 1991, he served at Kassim Lakha Abdulla &#038; Co. One of the top 10 Audit Firms in Kenya, rising through the ranks to become an Audit Senior.<br \/>\n\u2022\tFrom 1991 to 1994 he worked at Universal Safari Tours in Kenya as  Accountant\/Credit Controller<br \/>\n\u2022\tFrom January 10, 1995 to June 28, 1999 he joined  National Bank of Rwanda, and appointed Director of Accounts and Budgetary Control<br \/>\n\u2022\tFrom June 28, 1999 to December 31, 2003 served at National Bank of Rwanda as Director of Banking Operations<br \/>\n\u2022\tFrom January 2004 to February 2009 served at  National Bank of  Rwanda as Director of  Internal Operations<br \/>\n\u2022\tFebruary 2009 to October 11, 2010 served at National Bank of Rwanda as Director of Finance and General Services<br \/>\n\u2022\tFrom 2011 to 2013 joined Access to Finance Rwanda\/Consulting for KPMG Rwanda as Director of Finance Services<br \/>\n\u2022\tThe Cabinet meeting of September 11, 2013 appointed him Director General in charge of Agaciro Development Fund where he served till his demise. <\/p>\n<p>Some few months back, he travelled to India for medical consultations and was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer.
