{The bodyguard of Manyatta MP John Muchiri shot dead three suspected gangsters and found a pistol on Sunday night in Umoja Estate, Nairobi.}<\/p>\n

Administration Police Constable Moses Mugo was on his way home with a friend, Ms Caroline Mwende, when they were confronted by a gang of four men on a motorcycle at around 11pm.<\/p>\n

The gang ordered them to surrender their mobile phones and cash. They robbed Ms Mwende of her phone and Sh5,000.<\/p>\n

The officer drew his pistol and shot at them, killing three as one escaped, leaving the motorcycle behind.<\/p>\n

During the incident, Ms Mwende was injured in the left hand and was rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n

Police officers rushed to the scene after the shooting and seized a pistol with one round of ammunition, eight mobile phones, a bag and Sh3,950.<\/p>\n

The motorcycle the gang was using, registration number KMDG 755V, was taken to the Buruburu Police Station.<\/p>\n

The three bodies were taken to the City Mortuary.<\/p>\n

In another incident, police are looking for a gang of two men and a woman who on Saturday night robbed a motorist of his car near the Donholm roundabout.<\/p>\n

The armed gang, believed to be behind robberies targeting taxi drivers and car hire firms, is said to be using the woman to lure their victims.<\/p>\n
