More than 80 volunteers worked for months on what was once just an old abandoned structure sitting on Rorer Avenue.<\/p>\n

“We are so happy, we are so thankful and grateful to God for making us get this home,” said Mamie Moore.<\/p>\n

The Moores weren’t always singing and full of happiness. For five years, the family was stationed at a refugee camp in Liberia before coming to the United States in 2007.<\/p>\n

“It was not easy when the war was going on in Liberia. It was a very very tough time for each and every city in Liberia,” said Emanuel Moore.<\/p>\n

Before getting this house, The Moores and their four children lived in a two bedroom apartment on Melrose Avenue. But now they have four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a backyard.<\/p>\n

“Gosh I’ll tell you, you asked me what went into this house? A whole lot of love went into this house and it’s a very special family. I can’t even begin to estimate the hours that have been volunteered and worked on this house,” said Habitat For Humanity Development Director, Jenny Lee.<\/p>\n

Emanuel Moore, who is legally blind, says he may not be able to see but he definitely feels loved.<\/p>\n

“I feel so happy and glad today to be apart of the United States dream, I and my family,” Moore said.<\/p>\n
