The SRSG, Mr Parfait Onyanga officiated at the ceremony in Bria, Sector East, Central African Republic. }}

Mr Parfait Onyanga said that \u201cThis Medical Facility is a testimony to Rwanda\u2019s commitment to promote the cause of peace in the Central Africa Republic (CAR) and the World\u201d. The SRSG thanked the Managing Staff for dedication and professionalism \u201cYou make your nation Rwanda proud and you make the UN stronger in its noble mission of protecting vulnerable people, and caring for its own staff\u201d.<\/p>\n

Lt Col Dr King Kayondo, Commanding Officer, Rwandan Level 2 Hospital MINUSCA described Rwanda Level 2 Hospital as an advanced hospital, providing care and treatment to the UN civilian and military staff. The hospital comprises specialized services in Internal medicine, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, dentistry, psychology, physiotherapy, gynecology and obstetrics. The hospital also features a state of the art laboratory and imaging services.
\n\u201cRwandan Level 2 UN Hospital is effective and compliant Level 2 as it offers more services, Orthopedic and Obstetrics-Gynecology services, which are considered an additional to the level 2 hospital.\u201d said Lt Col Dr King Kayondo.<\/p>\n

Rwanda is the fifth largest troop and police contributing country to UN Peacekeeping missions globally, with more than 5000 military and police peacekeepers in different parts of the world.<\/p>\n

On 28 September 2015, H.E President Paul Kagame at the Leaders Summit on Peacekeeping on the margins of the 70th session of UN General Assembly outlined Rwanda’s additional support to UN Peace Support Operations, comprising of an additional Level 2 hospital, two more Infantry Battalions totaling 1600 troops, two attack helicopters, and an all-female formed police unit to help bolster UN peacekeeping missions around the world.<\/p>\n
