<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old woman had sought Police Constable Denis Awiyo\u2019s help after her husband locked her out of their house.<\/p>\n<p>Emily Afoyocan Amina, the Nwoya district Police Community Liaison Officer revealed that Awiyo aged 35, is attached to the Child and Family Protection Units.<\/p>\n<p>Afoyocan explained that the assault happened on the nights of Sunday and Monday when the victim, also a mother of a six-months-old baby, was offered shelter by Awiyo at his house in the police barracks.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than get the good night\u2019s sleep she craved, she was put on gunpoint by Awiyo who proceeded to force himself on her twice that night while promising to address her case and arrest her husband.<\/p>\n<p>Afoyocan strongly condemned Awiyo\u2019s actions and said he has been arrested, charged with rape under file number CRB NO: 924\/2015 and said investigations into the case are ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>The victim was been taken to Anaka Hospital for medical examination and treatment and transferred to Nwoya Christians Counseling Fellowship (CCF) \u2013 a non-governmental organization which provides support and protection to mothers.<\/p>\n<p>The New
