Speaking to the press in Kigali, The \u201cPapaoutai\u201d hitmaker referred to President Paul Kagame as a hero because he did what nobody else would dare to do.<\/p>\n

He said \u201cI would be glad meeting His Excellency President Paul Kagame and it would be a great pleasure to me\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst and foremost I would thank him for saving Rwandans and thank him as well for the great job he is doing to re build the country\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n

Stromae stated that he is proud to be one of the people who approve Rwanda as a country of peace, wealth and development worldwide.<\/p>\n

\u201cI honor Rwanda as a country of my origin, and I am happy to testify that Rwanda is now a country of peace and no more hatred [\u2026] I am also glad that young Rwandese look up to me and I encourage them to love one another\u201d, he added<\/p>\n

The star is expected to make a private visit to his family in Kigali.
\nOn Saturday, he is set to finally take the stage in Kigali the birthplace of his father in front of a 20,000 strong crowd.<\/p>\n

Stromae, 30, was born to Belgian mother and Rwandan father Pierre Rutare, an architect and killed in the 1994 Genocide.<\/p>\n
