{"id":20389,"date":"2015-08-12T00:57:49","date_gmt":"2015-08-12T00:57:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/agahozo-shalom-project-nominated-among-finalists\/"},"modified":"2015-08-12T00:54:13","modified_gmt":"2015-08-12T00:54:13","slug":"agahozo-shalom-project-nominated-among-finalists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/agahozo-shalom-project-nominated-among-finalists\/","title":{"rendered":"Agahozo Shalom Project nominated Among Finalists For East Africa Power Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{{NAIROBI, (CAJ News) \u2013 {FINALISTS for the East African Power Industry Awards have been announced.}}}}<\/p>\n<p>Among other nominees are former Kenyan Permanent Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, Patrick Nyoike, the Ugandan Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Irene Nafuna-Muloni, the Turkana Lake Wind Project in Kenya and Rwanda\u2019s Agahozo Shalom Youth Village.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s East African Power Industry Awards will take place during the East African Power Industry Convention (EAPIC) on August 27 in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>The awards, which celebrate the region\u2019s successes in 2014\/2015, were announced in seven award categories ranging from Power Transaction of the Year, Clean Energy Project of the Year to the category of Outstanding Woman in Power.<\/p>\n<p>Nafuna-Muloni scored a double nod from the judges with nominations in two categories, namely Lifetime Achievement Award and Outstanding Woman in Power.<br \/>\nThe panel of independent judges comprises accomplished industry experts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very proud to be able to honour the outstanding power professionals and projects in the East African region and I think the list of excellent finalists speaks for itself,\u201d says Natalie Bacon, Programme Director of EAPIC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe individuals and projects represent those companies and executives who have been responsible for pioneering new frontiers, pushing boundaries, inspiring others and achieving growth in turbulent and challenging markets.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 17th edition of EAPIC is expected to gather some 1 200 visitors this year, including from the region\u2019s leading power utilities, large industries and investors as well as technology and service providers who will showcase their products on the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>EAPIC and the East African Power Industry Awards are organised by Spintelligent, leading Cape Town-based trade exhibition and conference organiser, and the African office of Clarion Events Ltd, based in the UK.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{{{NAIROBI, (CAJ News) \u2013 {FINALISTS for the East African Power Industry Awards have been announced.}}}} Among other nominees are former Kenyan Permanent Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, Patrick Nyoike, the Ugandan Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Irene Nafuna-Muloni, the Turkana Lake Wind Project in Kenya and Rwanda\u2019s Agahozo Shalom Youth Village.
