{ {{Kenya}} -A student in Uasin Gishu County died on Saturday after consuming laboratory chemicals stolen from his school.}<\/p>\n
The AIC Seiyot Secondary School Form Four student allegedly consumed the mixture of laboratory chemicals he thought was alcohol.<\/p>\n
Oliver Kipkurui, 16, died at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital while another student is still in critical condition in the facility.<\/p>\n
The two students are reported to have stolen laboratory chemical which they were using during their end of term examinations before closing school on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
According to Mr Christopher Sang, the father of the deceased, his son was forced to sip the laced drink by his colleagues who were trying to \u2018manufacture liquor\u2019.<\/p>\n
He said that the second born in the family of three was forced to take a few drops of the unknown substance by his friends.<\/p>\n
It is after he took the substance that he was rushed to the hospital after he started experiencing stomach pains.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought it was just alcohol. He was complaining of stomach pains. I tried to administer first aid but the condition worsened forcing me to rush him to hospital where he died,\u201d said Mr Sang.<\/p>\n
Mr Sang said he alerted the school administration where they launched a manhunt for the other students who had consumed the substance after his son named them before he died.<\/p>\n
The school\u2019s board chairman Mr John Kerry said that students took substance outside the school compound as it had closed for August vacation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe county and police authorities are helping us investigate the cause of boy\u2019s death. This incident happened outside the school because we had closed the institution,\u201d said Mr Kerry.<\/p>\n
Three other students have been admitted at the hospital while four others are hiding for fear of being arrested.<\/p>\n
