As of August 04th , 2015, the number of registered Burundian refugees had reached 70,057 in Rwanda.<\/p>\n
among them 48,032 are hosted in different transit centers and Mahama camp as follow:<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Gashora Reception Centre , in Bugesera District in Eastern Province: 15,108<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Nyamiyaga a reception Centre, in Nyanza in the Southern Province :1,193<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Nyagatare Transit Centre: Rusizi District in the Western Province : 767<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Mahama refugee camp: Kirehe District in the Eastern Province : 30,964<\/p>\n
Those hosted in camps comprise 12,700 men, 11,659 Women, 23,673 Children.<\/p>\n
registered Urban refugees: 22,025<\/p>\n
Kigali: 19,792<\/p>\n
Huye: 2,233<\/p>\n
through the ongoing process of registration for urban refugees, 127 refugees in Kigali City and 842 in Huye have appointments for registration.<\/p>\n
MIDIMAR in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), UN agencies, International organizations and other implementing partners are providing to those refugees basic assistance such as shelter, food, Non-Food items (NFIs), water and sanitation facilities, health services and handling other needs as required by the refugees\u2019 protection standards.<\/p>\n
