{Kong Zhaoping, a former deputy director of Shanghai Railway Administration, was sentenced to 10 years in jail after taking more than 750,000 yuan (US$120,825) from others, the Shenyang Railway Intermediate People’s Court said Wednesday.}<\/p>\n
According to the court, the 55-year-old former official helped a private enterprise owner, surnamed Wei, winning the bidding of a project of Kong’s company in 2007.<\/p>\n
Later Kong also offered some assistance to Wei on construction and project funds between 2007 and 2009.<\/p>\n
During the two periods, Kong received 200,000-yuan bribes from Wei.<\/p>\n
