According to the Office of the President, during the talks on Thursday, the two leaders reaffirmed the strong and longstanding relations between Rwanda and Congo-Brazzaville and exchanged views on challenges facing the African continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also discussed the need to advance effective and sustainable solutions led by African countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting came as the two countries continue to strengthen diplomatic and political relations and cooperation across several areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rwanda opened its embassy in Congo-Brazzaville in August 2016, further formalising diplomatic engagement between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In November 2021, Rwanda and Congo-Brazzaville signed a series of agreements covering military cooperation, collaboration in improving teaching and learning at universities, land management, sustainable development and environmental protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreements also covered the promotion of bilateral trade and expansion of cooperation in air transport development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
