The dispute began on social media after Snider responded to discussions about former Ozzy collaborator and bassist Bob Daisley\u2019s claims about his contributions to Ozzy\u2019s early solo albums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snider said that Daisley wrote lyrics for Ozzy\u2019s first two solo albums and also pointed to other musicians who contributed lyrics to Ozzy\u2019s music and Black Sabbath, including Geezer Butler and Mot\u00f6rhead\u2019s Lemmy Kilmister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly responded through her Instagram Stories, defending her father\u2019s contributions as a musician, songwriter, singer and bandleader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said her father\u2019s legacy speaks for itself, pointing to his decades-long career and the millions of fans who continue to listen to and support his music.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly also criticised Snider for discussing her father\u2019s career after his death, arguing that he did not know enough about Ozzy\u2019s private or professional life to make such judgments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She described Snider\u2019s remarks as disrespectful and accused him of attempting to diminish her father\u2019s achievements. Kelly also compared their careers, noting that Ozzy\u2019s career spanned nearly six decades, from his work with Black Sabbath to his successful solo career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy father doesn’t need Dee Snider’s approval to establish his place in music history,\u201d Kelly said. She also questioned whether Snider was using her father\u2019s name to attract attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snider later clarified his comments on X, saying that he did not intend to disrespect Ozzy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said he had \u201cnothing but love\u201d for Ozzy and recalled that Black Sabbath had a major influence on him. Snider explained that, as a songwriter himself, he is particularly sensitive to issues involving songwriting credits and royalties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly, however, remained critical of his explanation. She described it as a backhanded compliment and accused Snider of continuing to use her father\u2019s name to gain attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The disagreement has once again brought attention to longstanding discussions surrounding songwriting credits in Ozzy\u2019s music career. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several musicians who worked with him have publicly discussed their contributions over the years, including Daisley, whose songwriting credits have been the subject of disputes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. He became internationally known as the lead singer of Black Sabbath before building a successful solo career that lasted for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond his music, Ozzy also became a familiar television figure through The Osbournes, the reality series that followed his family and introduced millions of viewers to his life outside the stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Kelly, however, her father\u2019s influence goes beyond questions about individual songwriting credits. She maintains that his contribution to rock and heavy metal music and his lasting influence on generations of fans remain undeniable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exchange between Kelly and Snider has therefore renewed public discussion about Ozzy\u2019s musical legacy, the contributions of musicians who worked with him and the question of how his work should be remembered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
