The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced the draw on Saturday, August 8, with the tournament scheduled to take place in China from September 22 to 27, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RSSB Tigers will compete in Group A alongside Rytas Vilnius of Lithuania, representing Europe, and Shanghai Sharks of China, representing Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rwandan side earned its place in the competition after winning the 2026 BAL title in Kigali, becoming the first Rwandan team to win the continental championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Group B, Chinese side Beijing Royal Fighters will face Boca Juniors of Argentina, representing South America, and NBA G League United, a team made up of selected players from the NBA G League that will represent the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RSSB Tigers will open their Intercontinental Cup campaign against Rytas Vilnius on September 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with the tournament bringing together champions and leading clubs from basketball leagues across the world’s major regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition will give RSSB Tigers an opportunity to test themselves against clubs from Europe and Asia after their historic BAL triumph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
