The IndieFest Film Awards is an international competition dedicated to promoting emerging talent in the global film industry, with awards presented across seven categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winning films were produced by Rwandan documentary filmmaker Zion Sulaiman Mukasa Matovu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Umuganda explores how community work has evolved into a symbol of self-reliance, cultural identity, and national unity in Rwanda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the Genocide reflects on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and its aftermath, highlighting Rwanda\u2019s journey of recovery, resilience, and national rebuilding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking about the recognition, Matovu said the international award underscores the importance of documenting and sharing Rwanda\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
