Israel is scheduled to play a European Championship qualifier against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo on June 12.<\/p>\n
A security official from the Bosnia-Herzegovina Football Federation, Adis Hajlovats, confirmed to Anadolu Agency that Israeli players and administrators would be protected by special police during their time in the country.<\/p>\n
Hajlovats said the match is considered “high risk” therefore security would be tight.<\/p>\n
Protecting Israeli athletes is not an uncommon security issue; safety has always been a priority since the 1972 Munich massacre of 11 Israeli Olympic team members.<\/p>\n
