\nI wish today you came to pick me up so we could be together again.
\nWhen I left you, I thought it\u2019d be good so that I would long for the time I got to see you again.
\nI wonder how you are,
\nHow tall you\u2019ve grown from overcoming your daily challenges
\nI\u2019m sure that either way you rejoice from the lessons learnt along the way
\nThe waves you crossed after each day.
\nI want you to teach me how you do it
\nHow you come from something so small
\nFull of hurt, destruction, failure, and rock bottom
\nTo the most beautiful thing in the pearl of Africa
\nAnd most importantly, to the most generous host of all your beloved children
\nI\u2019m sorry to hear about how rough it\u2019s been for you to remember your lost ones,
\nI mourn with you, but rejoice in the thought that they are in paradise
\nHelping you get stronger day by day
\nHelping you become a world model of what reconciliation should look like
\nHelping you teach the world that only PEACE is what humanity deserves.
\nOh Rwanda, you\u2019re so lucky,
\nYou always find a way to overcome your problems,
\nI feel like mine are just tumbling over my head in a pile
