{President Uhuru Kenyatta was Thursday night forced to cut short his journey to Los Angeles for on official duty due to the intense fighting in Yemen.}<\/p>\n
\u201cFollowing reports of increased military activity in Yemen, there was a challenge on the routing leading to a decision to turn back. The President touched the ground at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 11.42 pm,\u201d read a statement from Statehouse spokesman Manoah Esipisu.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta left Nairobi last evening on board his official Kenya Airforce aircraft destined for Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, where he was due to connect to a commercial flight to Los Angeles.\u201d<\/p>\n
President Kenyatta was travelling to Los Angeles to attend the 2015 Milken Institute Global Conference.<\/p>\n
The President will address the Milken Institute Corporate and Investor Roundtable on April 27.<\/p>\n
He will also address the conference later in the evening from 5pm to 6pm.<\/p>\n
President Paul Kagame of Rwanda will also attend the forum.<\/p>\n
He will address the same sessions as President Kenyatta.<\/p>\n
Presidents Kenyatta and Kagame are expected to be the only foreign heads of state attending the conference, which is scheduled to run from April 26 to 29.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
