It is a regretful moment
\nIt is an oath that we don\u2019t want to remember, that April, 7th 1994
\nI am referring to it today as history
\nTwenty-one years ago, it was a calamity, gnashing, barbarous,
\ncruelty\u2026\u2026
\nIt was agony, disastrous and inhuman
\nA regretful situation that lasted for 100 days but caused
\nnational disaster
\nInterehamwe slaughtered Tutsis in cold blood
\nAnd the world was in arms akimbo watching the slaughter
\nA genocide that recorded approximately 800,000 Tutsis and Hutu sympathizers dead<\/p>\n
A regretful episode, we talk about it only when we are commemorating it
\nWe solemnly pledge not to witness such an incidence, \u2018genocide\u2019 on our mother land again<\/p>\n
The Sages are musing on what called for such a 100-day menace in Rwanda
\nBut seems there is no answer<\/p>\n
Tutsi and Hutus are peaceful people who are easily categories through
\nMarriages or cattle acquisition
\nThen what happened in 100 days\u2026\u2026????<\/p>\n
A regretful event that that cause a lot lives
\nAtrocities, holocaust, brutalities, massacre, killing \u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026
\nBut later the expert define it as genocide
\nAh! If the world watch the genocide with stories and nice definitions,
\nIs like a skilful player about to score and the referee offer an infringement\u2026..,
\nIt is unfair, isn\u2019t it?
\nMen, women and children were murdered with hand weapons, machetes, and clubs in schools, churches and hospitals.<\/p>\n
The world remain spectators for perpetrators to do their own criminality
\nThis is a regretful event
\nMy eyes are dropping tears
\nMy ears are aching with stories
\nOur hearts are traumatized with unbelievable torture
\nAnd this is the basic definition of genocide<\/p>\n
But the world watched, recorded videos and took pictures without remorse
\nToday is a commemoration day
\nWe will never forget this day in Rwandan life
\nWe pledge not to experience this in Rwanda again
\nRegretful day. The day without placatory<\/p>\n
