{Zambia President Edgar Lungu arrived home late Sunday after medical treatment in South Africa.}<\/p>\n
“I am fit and ready to resume work,” he told reporters on landing at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in the capital Lusaka.<\/p>\n
President Lungu, 58, was in a jovial mood as he greeted his supporters and his Cabinet members who had lined up awaiting his arrival.<\/p>\n
He condemned people he said were wishing him ill, but thanked those who went into the prayer mode since the announcement of his “much publicised sickness”.<\/p>\n

President Lungu collapsed during the International Women’s Day and was rushed to hospital for what the presidency said was the narrowing of the oesophagus, traces of malaria and low sugar levels.<\/p>\n
After collapsing, the President was advised by his doctors to seek medical treatment for his gullet condition abroad, because the service was unavailable in Zambia.<\/p>\n
His predecessor Michael Sata died while in office in October.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Presidency has been quoted a private daily The Post urging people to ignore online reports that the Head of State had been diagnosed with throat cancer.<\/p>\n
