{A 50 \u2013year- old man of Kaombwe village in Nakonde District of Muchinga Province has been sentenced to three years imprisonment with hard labour on charges of having sex with a goat.}<\/p>\n
Particulars of the offence were that on 25th March 2014 Charles Simukawi, a peasant farmer had carnal knowledge of a she goat contrary to section 155 (b) of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.<\/p>\n
In mitigation, Simukwai said he was an old man and that he had a family to look after.He pleaded with the Magistrate to be lenient on him and not to send him to prison as his family would remain suffering if he was given a custodial sentence.<\/p>\n
In passing Judgement, Magistrate Joshua Sikazwe said he had heard what Simukwai had said in his mitigation but that the subject offence he had committed was a serious one and that there is need to punish Simukwai as morals are a key in any given society.<\/p>\n

Magistrate Sikazwe sentenced Simukwai to 3 years imprisonment with hard labour beginning from the date he was arrested.<\/p>\n
