{Five people have been killed at Park Nyigoti Village in Serengeti District, Mara Region, by their fellow villagers on suspicion of engaging in activities that have caused rains not to fall in the area, the police force confirmed.}<\/p>\n
The sad and shocking incident occurred very early in the morning. They killed three women and two men at the village,\u201d Acting Mara Regional Police Commander (RPC), Mr Ernest Kimola, told the \u2018Daily News\u2019.<\/p>\n
According to the RPC, the regional crime officer (RCO) was dispatched to the village soon after news on the macabre incident broke out to lead the hunt for the killers.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo far we have arrested six persons in connection with the killings and the search for more suspects is underway,\u201d the Acting RPC said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBefore the killings, a meeting was held in the village to discuss the problem of drought at which villagers accused some of their colleagues of causing drought in the village through witchcraft.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is dangerous perception,\u201d Mr Kimola observed. He refuted earlier reports that five more villagers were wounded during the incident.<\/p>\n
