{"id":18546,"date":"2015-02-08T22:23:41","date_gmt":"2015-02-08T22:23:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/psf-gets-advice\/"},"modified":"2015-02-08T22:21:57","modified_gmt":"2015-02-08T22:21:57","slug":"psf-gets-advice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/psf-gets-advice\/","title":{"rendered":"PSF gets advice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{The Private Sector Federation (PSF) of Rwanda needs to play an advocacy role to ensure that the labour law of the country approach to standard (to the general practices and regulations within the East African Community).}<\/p>\n<p>Tom Muchelle, a Human Resource Consultant, was recently speaking at the Private Sector Validation Workshop, \u2018Reviving Labour Relations in Private Sector\u2019, held in Kigali.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe PSF needs to educate employers on what each of the aspects of the labour law is all about which will enhance good labour relations between the employers and the employees,\u201d Muchelle said.<\/p>\n<p>Muchelle reported that Rwanda\u2019s labour relations and engagement is pretty low creating bigger space between employers and employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEmployers do not appreciate the significant role played by their staff in their success. Employees are not looked at as capital but seen as cost centres, no capacity for labor relations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Muchelle called on PSF to do things in the best way to create a big difference, make it easy for people of Rwanda to do business.<\/p>\n<p>Muchelle said, \u201cThe labour relations direction should start identifying the law hanging fruits which include information (adequate, correct and up to date information), service in terms of labor relations, advice regarding employment and labor relations and guidance\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPSF need to create a legal department that will help advice its people, a strong labor relations expert, and a human resource consultancy expert.
