{"id":182,"date":"2011-05-13T07:24:56","date_gmt":"2011-05-13T07:24:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/firm-announces-initial-gold-drill-project-results\/"},"modified":"2011-05-13T07:22:42","modified_gmt":"2011-05-13T07:22:42","slug":"firm-announces-initial-gold-drill-project-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/firm-announces-initial-gold-drill-project-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Firm announces initial gold drill project results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A gold mining firm, <span data-scaytid=\"2\" data-scayt_word=\"Simba\">Simba<\/span> Gold Corp, has announced initial drill results from the <span data-scaytid=\"57\" data-scayt_word=\"Miyove\">Miyove<\/span> gold project, which is owned by <span data-scaytid=\"10\" data-scayt_word=\"Rogi\">Rogi<\/span> Mining Limited, that the Company has an option to acquire. The <span data-scaytid=\"5\" data-scayt_word=\"Miyove\">Miyove<\/span> gold project is located in northern Rwanda and comprises 2,937 hectares over the largest historic gold-producing areas in Rwanda.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Highlights of the drill program to date include 24.69 <span data-scaytid=\"14\" data-scayt_word=\"metres\">metres<\/span> averaging 0.61 grams per <span data-scaytid=\"19\" data-scayt_word=\"tonne\">tonne<\/span> (g\/t) gold, including 7.54 <span data-scaytid=\"15\" data-scayt_word=\"metres\">metres<\/span> grading 1.12 g\/t gold in hole MY-11-02 and 1.21 g\/t gold over 5.58 <span data-scaytid=\"16\" data-scayt_word=\"metres\">metres<\/span>, including 2.15 g\/t gold over 2.57 <span data-scaytid=\"17\" data-scayt_word=\"metres\">metres<\/span> in hole MY-11-05.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;In March 2010, the Company completed its Qualifying Transaction granting it the right to purchase up to 100% of the issued and outstanding shares of <span data-scaytid=\"11\" data-scayt_word=\"Rogi\">Rogi<\/span> in exchange for a total of up to US$<span data-scaytid=\"1\" data-scayt_word=\"2.75-million\">2.75-million<\/span> in cash and the issuance of up to 5.7 million shares to <span data-scaytid=\"20\" data-scayt_word=\"Rogi\u2019s\">Rogi\u2019s<\/span> shareholders over a period of five years. <span data-scaytid=\"12\" data-scayt_word=\"Rogi\">Rogi<\/span> mobilized a 3,<span data-scaytid=\"21\" data-scayt_word=\"000-metre\">000-metre<\/span> drill program on the <span data-scaytid=\"6\" data-scayt_word=\"Miyove\">Miyove<\/span> gold project in December 2010 and drilling commenced early in January 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The <span data-scaytid=\"7\" data-scayt_word=\"Miyove\">Miyove<\/span> gold project comprises three <span data-scaytid=\"22\" data-scayt_word=\"mineralised\">mineralised<\/span> corridors, <span data-scaytid=\"23\" data-scayt_word=\"Karenda\">Karenda<\/span>, <span data-scaytid=\"26\" data-scayt_word=\"Baradega\">Baradega<\/span> and <span data-scaytid=\"27\" data-scayt_word=\"Masogwe\">Masogwe<\/span> all of which lie along a northwest &#8211; southeast mineralized trend over a six <span data-scaytid=\"28\" data-scayt_word=\"kilometre\">kilometre<\/span> stretch. Drilling to date has focused on the <span data-scaytid=\"24\" data-scayt_word=\"Karenda\">Karenda<\/span> zone, an area of historic production, and in particular on gold <span data-scaytid=\"29\" data-scayt_word=\"mineralization\">mineralization<\/span> beneath previous trenches (2006-2009), gold <span data-scaytid=\"30\" data-scayt_word=\"mineralization\">mineralization<\/span> based on an approximation of the <span data-scaytid=\"31\" data-scayt_word=\"1980s\">1980s<\/span> United Nation drilling and on geological targets. To date, 1,279 <span data-scaytid=\"18\" data-scayt_word=\"metres\">metres<\/span> have been completed in ten holes, from five drill sites. Drilling has been difficult on the <span data-scaytid=\"25\" data-scayt_word=\"Karenda\">Karenda<\/span> Zone due to strongly <span data-scaytid=\"32\" data-scayt_word=\"oxidised\">oxidised<\/span> and weathered rock conditions, complications with old workings&nbsp;and limitations of the drill equipment. The Company has received assay results for holes 1, 2, and 4 and partial results for holes 3 and 5.<\/p>\n<p>The <span data-scaytid=\"8\" data-scayt_word=\"Miyove\">Miyove<\/span> gold project is underlain by rocks of the central African <span data-scaytid=\"33\" data-scayt_word=\"Mesoproterozoic-aged\">Mesoproterozoic-aged<\/span> <span data-scaytid=\"34\" data-scayt_word=\"Kibara\">Kibara<\/span> <span data-scaytid=\"35\" data-scayt_word=\"orogen\">orogen<\/span> that extend from <span data-scaytid=\"36\" data-scayt_word=\"Katanga\">Katanga<\/span> (Democratic Republic of Congo) in the south, to southern Uganda in the north. The <span data-scaytid=\"37\" data-scayt_word=\"Kibaran\">Kibaran<\/span> geology on the property consists of shale, siltstone, sandstone and rare conglomerate units. <span data-scaytid=\"38\" data-scayt_word=\"Mineralization\">Mineralization<\/span> is associated with multiple northwest-southeast-trending gold-bearing quartz veins and <span data-scaytid=\"39\" data-scayt_word=\"stockworks\">stockworks<\/span>, and associated wall rock alteration comprising <span data-scaytid=\"40\" data-scayt_word=\"kaolinization\">kaolinization<\/span> and iron oxidation.<\/p>\n<p><span data-scaytid=\"13\" data-scayt_word=\"Rogi\">Rogi<\/span> is well established in Rwanda, and complemented by contract personnel who have experience and knowledge in the country and the ability to conduct efficient and effective exploration programs. Samples were sawn and collected from the diamond drill holes and delivered by the Company to <span data-scaytid=\"41\" data-scayt_word=\"SGS\">SGS<\/span> Minerals Services, <span data-scaytid=\"43\" data-scayt_word=\"Mwanza\">Mwanza<\/span>, Tanzania. <span data-scaytid=\"42\" data-scayt_word=\"SGS\">SGS<\/span> undertook sample preparation and analysis for gold by fire assay with an atomic absorption finish on 30-gram samples. To date only gold assays have been received, however multi-element analysis will follow shortly.<\/p>\n<p><span data-scaytid=\"3\" data-scayt_word=\"Simba\">Simba<\/span> is an African-focused gold exploration company with an option to acquire a company that owns gold exploration rights within the <span data-scaytid=\"44\" data-scayt_word=\"Gicumbi\">Gicumbi<\/span>, <span data-scaytid=\"46\" data-scayt_word=\"Burera\">Burera<\/span>, <span data-scaytid=\"48\" data-scayt_word=\"Rusizi\">Rusizi<\/span> and <span data-scaytid=\"49\" data-scayt_word=\"Nyamasheke\">Nyamasheke<\/span> Districts, and nickel exploration rights within the <span data-scaytid=\"50\" data-scayt_word=\"Kirehe\">Kirehe<\/span> District of the Republic of Rwanda. <span data-scaytid=\"51\" data-scayt_word=\"Simba\u2019s\">Simba\u2019s<\/span> principal property is the <span data-scaytid=\"9\" data-scayt_word=\"Miyove\">Miyove<\/span> Gold Project located in the <span data-scaytid=\"45\" data-scayt_word=\"Gicumbi\">Gicumbi<\/span> and <span data-scaytid=\"47\" data-scayt_word=\"Burera\">Burera<\/span> Districts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A gold mining firm, Simba Gold Corp, has announced initial drill results from the Miyove gold project, which is owned by Rogi Mining Limited, that the Company has an option to acquire.
