Local officials say Robert Chamwami Shalubuto’s body was recovered from a grocery store close to his home in Goma in the country’s eastern region. <\/p>\n
Celestin Sibomana, the spokesman for North Kivu province, has confirmed the killing of the journalist, labeling it an “assassination”.<\/p>\n
Investigators say Shalubuto died after being shot in the chest. <\/p>\n
The police have reportedly launched an investigation into the killing.<\/p>\n
Reports say Shalubuto had worked for state-operated Congolese National Radio and Television (RTNC) in recent years.<\/p>\n
