{"id":1782,"date":"2012-02-10T08:25:53","date_gmt":"2012-02-10T08:25:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/pope-benedict-s-message-for-world-sick-day\/"},"modified":"2012-02-10T08:23:47","modified_gmt":"2012-02-10T08:23:47","slug":"pope-benedict-s-message-for-world-sick-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/pope-benedict-s-message-for-world-sick-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Pope Benedict&#8217;s Message For World sick Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{On Sunday 12th February will be the world day of the sick.It\u2019s a day churches open their parish doors to the sick for prayer and healing. }} <\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s \u201cworld sick day\u2019 message that was chosen by Pope Benedict himself will be given in three parts, the first will be \u201cPenance\u201d, the second will be \u201cthe anointing of the sick\u201d, and the third and last will be \u201cthe holy Eucharist\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The three blessings are to cleanse the sick through prayer and faith. The lessons in churches around the world will be that those who seek healing will find it in through their faith in the lord and through the blessings; they will regain their health through faith.<\/p>\n<p>Churches across Rwanda will not only open their doors to receive the sick but also be part of the healing process that will take place in all parts of country\u2019s hospitals, homes, schools, or the streets, priests and their parishioners will be healing Rwanda\u2019s through help, blessing, and prayer.<\/p>\n<p>Pope Benedict addressed all reverends, priests, and all practitioners of the church to encourage and teach the people the true meaning of what this day means.<br \/>\nFor decades people would believe that when priests were called to the homes of the sick, it was believed that the person was going to die, hence many people when sick avoid churches.<\/p>\n<p>A member of the Christian Life Assembly church shared with IGIHE.com about what this day meant for his church and Rwandan\u2019s in general.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe day will bring a new light to those that haven\u2019t fully understood the meaning of the Holy Eucharist. A day for the people to help those in need. Our church has cells  in different districts, they conduct meetings to find ways of helping the sick.
