{President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday received credentials from six newly accredited envoys to Kenya at State House, Nairobi.}<\/p>\n
The new envoys are Virgilio Marques de Faria of Angola, Vincent O\u2019neill of Ireland, Boubacar Gouro Diall of Mali and Naim Akibou of Benin.<\/p>\n
Others are Dmitry Kuptel of the Republic of Belarus and Guinea\u2019s Sidibe Fatoumata kaba.<\/p>\n
President Kenyatta welcomed the envoys to Nairobi and affirmed Kenya\u2019s commitment to working closely with them to deepen cooperation between Kenya and their respective countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cI look forward to closer working relationships to better the relations between our countries for the benefit of our people,\u201d said President Kenyatta.<\/p>\n
O\u2019neill said his government\u2019s decision to re-open its embassy in Nairobi is clear testimony of the cordial relations existing between the two countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can assure you that I will build on the strength of our existing relationship to promote new opportunities for cooperation in areas of political, trade and development in a manner that will be beneficial to our people,\u201d said the ambassador.<\/p>\n
Angola\u2019s envoy appreciated the support Kenya and other African countries accorded his country\u2019s campaign for a non-permanent membership to the UN Security Council.<\/p>\n
Mali\u2019s Ambassador lauded President Kenyatta for the pivotal role in brokering peace at the regional and continental levels.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cThe Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA) released by the World Bank indicate that Kenya occupies good ranking in Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n
Belarus ambassador said he looked forward in working with Kenyan authorities and business representatives on technology transfer and improved trade between Kenya and his country.<\/p>\n
He said conclusion of agreements in trade and economic cooperation, investment and education will further improve the bilateral relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cTogether with our colleagues in the Kenya Foreign ministry, we are working on development of legal base for our cooperation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Benin\u2019s Akibou said his country shares the goals and objectives enshrined in the constitutive Act of the African Union and would work with Kenya to accelerate integration in the continent.<\/p>\n
Kaba of Guinea said her country fully supported Kenya in the fight against terror and would provide any assistance.<\/p>\n
The new envoys condemned recent terror attacks in Mandera County and conveyed their messages of condolence to the President and the bereaved families.<\/p>\n
