{"id":1752,"date":"2012-02-07T04:41:34","date_gmt":"2012-02-07T04:41:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/no-one-will-influence-nmg-editorial-editor\/"},"modified":"2012-02-07T04:54:45","modified_gmt":"2012-02-07T04:54:45","slug":"no-one-will-influence-nmg-editorial-editor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/no-one-will-influence-nmg-editorial-editor\/","title":{"rendered":"No One Will Influence NMG Editorial&#8211;Editor"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-1284 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/minisitiri_musoni_ari_kumwe_n_umuyobozi_mukuru_wa_nation_media_group_bwana_linus_githai_hagati_hamwe_n_uyihagararariyr_mu_rwanda_phillip_velese.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>{{Geoffrey Mutagoma, the chief editor of Rwanda based KFM radio owned by Nation Media Group (NMG) has assured listeners that they intend to challenge the local culture of advertisers influencing the editorial policies of media houses.}}<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will report independently, professionally and responsibly and no one has the right to influence our editorial policy and of course local advertisers won\u2019t shy away because I believe they would want quality,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p>During the launch of the radio station at Kigali Serena grounds, the NMG Chief Executive Officer Linus Gitahi added that they intend to promote professionalism in the local media by especially training local journalists.<\/p>\n<p>Gitahi also noted that they intend to introduce other media outlets such as the Television and newspaper, through these new products NMG intends to add on its employment opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now we have employed more than 50 staff but our target is to hire 300 of them,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>The minister in charge of cabinet affairs Protais Musoni hoped that KFM would deliver professionally and further encouraged NMG to invest into a TV station.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe only have one television channel in the country (TVR) and we\u2019re longing for another one.
