One, Karen Clark Stanton \u2014 executive director of the State Department\u2019s Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, to be ambassador to Timor-Leste \u2014 had been waiting 401 days for her confirmation.<\/p>\n<p>The others are:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Barbara Leaf, nominated in July for the United Arab Emirates. Since 2013, she was the Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Arabian Peninsula.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ted Osius, nominated in May for Vietnam. He was most recently a professor at the National War College.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Erica J. Barks Ruggles, nominated in June for Rwanda. She was most recently Consul General at the U.S. Consulate in Cape Town, South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>There are some 60 nominees who have been waiting months to leave for their overseas posts.
