{{17th November 2014}}-{Rwanda\u2019s Minister of Public Service and Labour, Judith Uwizeye, has appreciated the role of Japan in enhancing Trade union Rights and labour standards.}<\/p>\n
The Minister was on Monday officiating at the opening of the workshop of African Trade Unions.<\/p>\n
In her opening remarks, Minister Uwizeye said
\n\u201cThe history of Japan is quite inspiring. Japan at the end of the second world war relied on its working population to rebuild its infrastructures and economy, and now as we all know, Japan is one of the greatest economies in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
She says that in Africa, Trade Unions can equally play a great role mobilizing workers to put efforts and knowledge together for both individual, enterprise and community benefits.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlong such development oriented efforts, the promotion of labour rights and standards can get to higher levels.\u201d Disclosed Uwizeye<\/p>\n
Eric Manzi; the Secretary General of CESTRAR Rwanda, said that it is a good opportunity for Rwanda to learn best practices of Japan and implement them in Rwanda.<\/p>\n
Manzi went on by saying that partnerships and cooperation activities with trade unions played reputable roles in national development for Japan and Rwanda.<\/p>\n
Kazuya Ogawa, Ambassador of Japan to Rwanda thanked the Leadership of Rwanda for the development of the country and enabling Trade Unions working freely in smooth way.<\/p>\n
