{Tanzania’s President Jakaya Kikwete was Wednesday transferred from the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the US to a nearby hotel.}<\/p>\n
The President left the hospital where he underwent a successful prostate surgery last weekend to the special hotel for recuperating VIPs.<\/p>\n
The facility, according to a statement sent to newsrooms Thursday, is located near the hospital.<\/p>\n
President Kikwete will continue to receive treatment while at the hotel that is associated with the hospital.<\/p>\n
Dressed in a stripped T-shirt and a long black coat, the President looked jovial as he left the hospital.<\/p>\n
He was in the company of his medical team, aides and some family members, including his wife, Salma.<\/p>\n
The statement from the Directorate of Presidential Communications said since Saturday when the surgery was performed, the President had been responding well to treatment.<\/p>\n
It added that President Kikwete was walking as part of his therapeutic treatment.<\/p>\n
