{"id":1684,"date":"2012-01-31T08:51:56","date_gmt":"2012-01-31T08:51:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwandan-orphans-expecting-new-zealand-substitute\/"},"modified":"2012-01-31T10:16:20","modified_gmt":"2012-01-31T10:16:20","slug":"rwandan-orphans-expecting-new-zealand-substitute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwandan-orphans-expecting-new-zealand-substitute\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwandan Orphans Expecting New Zealand Substitute Mother"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{A New Zealand woman, Vhari Campbell will arrive in Rwanda to act as a substitute mother to orphans and help them with their homework, feeding the smaller ones, cooking and cleaning.}}<\/p>\n<p>Vhari will be in Rwanda by September 30 ready to start work on October 1 and she will be around for the whole of October.<\/p>\n<p>A mother of two, Vhari will spend a month in a children\u2019s orphanage in Rwanda, in a placement arranged by the Global Volunteer Network.<\/p>\n<p>The network is a New Zealand-based company and will place Vhari with a Christian-based project. <\/p>\n<p>Vhari says,\u201cThis is something I have wanted to do for a long time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew Africa was where I wanted to go, so when I came across this company it was exactly what I was looking for. I don\u2019t know where I will be going, but I have already been reading books about Rwanda.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To help raise the money she needs, Vhari is going on a marathon sponsored cycle on June 9 and 10. She will be accompanied by two friends, Morna Wilson-Smith and Laura Morley who will also be sponsored.<\/p>\n<p>The cyclists will cover 112 miles over the two days.
