{Zimbabwe’s First Lady, Grace Mugabe has reportedly urged ruling Zanu-PF party officials to emulate her husband President Robert Mugabe’s principles, saying Zimbabwe will never have another leader like him.}<\/p>\n
According to the state-owned newspaper, Herald, Grace said this while addressing Zanu-PF supporters at her maiden rally following her nomination to lead the party’s women’s league.<\/p>\n
Grace said Mugabe was a straightforward and focussed leader who didn’t seek to enrich himself.<\/p>\n
The First land said this as factionalism continued to rock Zanu-PF ahead of the party’s elective congress in December.<\/p>\n
Grace bemoaned what she termed lack of proper leadership qualities among some party officials, adding that should her husband decide to quit active politics, the party would crumble, said a News Day report.<\/p>\n
Grace also accused senior party officials of clandestinely plotting the ouster of her husband while publicly feigning allegiance to the veteran leader.<\/p>\n
According to New Zimbabwe.com, Grace said some top Zanu-PF officials were scheming to get rid of Mugabe on the basis that he was old.<\/p>\n
Mugabe, at 90, is the oldest president in the world. He is also the only president Zimbabweans have ever known.<\/p>\n
Grace said the factional fighting within Zanu-PF was having a heavy toll on her husband.<\/p>\n
\u201cMugabe is a strong man but we end up stressing him through what we do, these fights are not good at all for the party,\u201d the report quoted Grace as saying.<\/p>\n
