Liquid Telecom has announced that it is planning to invest USD 34 million in Rwanda.<\/p>\n
The investment forms part of the company\u2019s USD 200 million Africa expansion plans.<\/p>\n
Sam Nkusi, Liquid Telecom Rwanda CEO, stated that: \u201cThe money will be used to build internet infrastructure such as laying of fibre-optic cable around the country.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo far, we have already laid 46km of underground fiber optic cable in Kigali. Where we haven\u2019t reached, we lease from the government some of the ducts on a long-term basis. Rwanda is key in connecting East and Central African capitals with route diversity and reliability,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
According to the company, Liquid Telecom is looking to position itself as the leading independent data, voice and IP provider in eastern, southern and central Africa.<\/p>\n
