The African continent still experiences very serious challenges related to the guarantee of peace and stability in its various regions, said on Thursday in Waco-Cungo locality in the central Cuanza Sul province, the Angola Defence minister, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o. <\/p>\n
Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o was speaking at a closing ceremony of joint military exercise of the armed forces of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) member states, called “Valley Keve of 2014”, in Waco-Cungo, coastal Cuanza Sul province.<\/p>\n
Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o said that the absence of multilateral mechanisms that prevented or minimized the effects of natural calamities and insecurity problems should be everyone’s concern.<\/p>\n
According to him, this kind of negative phenomena should deserve opportune responses and a permanent preparation, which might endanger the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the SADC member countries. <\/p>\n
The manoeuvres started on 1 August last and brought together about 1, 700 special troops from the Armies of Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Zambia <\/p>\n
