The Chevening programme has been successfully operating in Rwanda since 1999 and over 40 Rwandans have benefitted from it. They have returned to lead institutions, head government departments and shape Rwanda\u2019s future. I\u2019m proud that the UK contributed to their professional and personal development and I encourage all aspiring leaders to apply.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Awards are typically for a one-year Master\u2019s degree, in any subject at any of the UK\u2019s leading universities. <\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship, you must:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tBe a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country, and intend to return there after your studies<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tHold a degree that is equivalent to at least an upper second-class honours degree in the UK<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tHave completed at least two years\u2019 work or equivalent experience before applying for a Chevening Scholarship<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tBe able to meet the Chevening minimum English language requirement<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tBe able to obtain the correct visa, and receive an unconditional offer from a UK university<\/p>\n<p>The Chevening team are particularly interested to hear from applicants in Rwanda who wish to study subjects listed as priority areas on the Chevening website http:\/\/www.chevening.org\/rwanda\/ <\/p>\n<p>A Chevening scholarship usually offers a monthly stipend, travel to and from your country, a thesis or dissertation grant and tuition fees.<\/p>\n<p>How to apply<\/p>\n<p>Applicants should read the online guidance and be able to demonstrate how they meet the Chevening selection criteria before submitting an application.
