{A court was left in stitches after the magistrate teased a defilement suspect named after the late South African President Nelson Mandela. } <\/p>\n
The magistrate, in a light touch, said the fallen hero must be unhappy for being in court over such a charge. Nelson Mandela, 25, allegedly defiled an 11-year-old girl in Kasarani between August 18 and 22. <\/p>\n
Police said the girl was defiled by Mandela when her father, Evans Kaberia, was in Turkana. <\/p>\n
In court, Mandela tried to explain himself, but was cut short by the court\u2019s magistrate who said: \u201cThis was just your time to take a plea, the hearing date will be set, but surely, Nelson Mandela the legend, must be sad wherever he is now that his namesake is accused of defilement.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mandela denied the charge and was released on a Sh150,000 bail and surety bond of Sh1 million. The case will be heard on December 8.<\/p>\n
