She is the second born of President Paul Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame, and the only girl in this family of three boys. Though she usually keeps a low profile, she recently accompanied her father to the White House US-Africa Leaders Summit Dinner hosted by the US President Barack Obama.}<\/p>\n

Many were surprised to see President Paul Kagame accompanied by his daughter Ange Kagame. The picture showing the President and his daughter circulated on various platforms causing a buzz on social media. A lot was said in the media, some even went as far as bringing politics into Ange\u2019s presence at the White House. This led to Ange posting on her Twitter account that she doesn\u2019t understand how some people turned her accompanying her father into something political or negative. \u201cHow did some turn me escorting my dad to a White House dinner into something political or negative? \u2026 You all are always reaching and touching nothing,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Ange Kagame is an avid tweep, and her account has more than ten thousand followers, while she follows 234 accounts. She has tweeted close to eight thousand times.<\/p>\n

A close look at Ange Kagame\u2019s tweets reveals her passion for music, sports and entertainment. You will find her sharing her favorite music, from Jay Z\u2019s \u2018Heart of The City\u2019 to Usher\u2019s \u2018You Remind Me\u2019; or commenting on enjoying Lionel Richie\u2019s concert.<\/p>\n

During the 2014 World Cup which was held in Brazil, Ange commented frequently on her twitter account, at times congratulating African teams for their performances, proof of how closely she followed how the competition was unfolding.<\/p>\n

Though she has the busiest parents in the country, they never miss any opportunity to show her their affection. Ange once tweeted \u201cMy mother is a walking survival kit\/superwoman. Literally she has the answer to everything (\u2026)\u201d. She also tweeted about her father that \u201cMy dad just spent the last 5-10 minutes helping me detangle and brush out my post wedding hair \u2026 very out of his element, a father\u2019s love.\u201d<\/p>\n

{{Ange}}: Loyal, Passionate, Optimistic<\/p>\n

{{Ange}}: In my last year of University.<\/p>\n

{{IGIHE}}: Are you involved with charities in Rwanda? <\/p>\n

{{Ange}}: Not particularly, but I’ve done some work with my mum’s foundation( Imbuto Foundation).<\/p>\n

{{Ange}}:If I had to describe my dad with one word it would be resilient. He’s been through the fire but it has built him, not broken him. Hands down the strongest man I know. <\/p>\n

{{Ange}}: Selfless and grounded. She keeps us all(family) down to earth. Goes above and beyond for those she loves. <\/p>\n

{{Ange}}: I love trying out different types of food\/ new restaurants with friends, Traveling, Bowling. My favorite sport is Basketball and my favorite team is Boston Celtics<\/p>\n

{{Ange}}: Tourism because Rwanda has a lot to offer in terms of scenery as well as a rich history & culture. Education & Youth Entrepreneurship to help develop the Rwandan youth, which constitutes over 50% of our population. <\/p>\n

{{Ange}}: I speak two fluently( English & Kinyarwanda) & French<\/p>\n

{{Ange}}: All our Christmas Family trips. 2013 in particular<\/p>\n

{{IGIHE}}: Who is your inspiration and why?<\/p>\n

{{Ange}}: My Father and Mother. Even with the world’s weight on their shoulders & with what sometimes seems like the hardest job in the world, they are very present and active in mine & my siblings lives all the way down to the smallest things. Most people find it hard to manage families & careers & I admire how well they do it as a team as well as on an individual level. <\/p>\n

{{Ange}}: Celebrating 20 years of liberation comes with a great responsibility for our generation. Our parents sacrifices allowed us to be the first generation to be raised in a Rwanda defined by dignity and equality. It is our duty to uphold & sustain what it is that our parents were willing to die for. <\/p>\n
