{"id":15782,"date":"2014-08-09T07:53:08","date_gmt":"2014-08-09T07:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/buying-luxury-3m-land-yacht\/"},"modified":"2014-08-09T07:50:45","modified_gmt":"2014-08-09T07:50:45","slug":"buying-luxury-3m-land-yacht","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/buying-luxury-3m-land-yacht\/","title":{"rendered":"Buying Luxury $3m Land Yacht"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{Announcing the world\u2019s most expensive anything is a surefire way to attract attention, but when the thing is a $3m motor home, questions arise beyond the obvious \u201cWhy?\u201d After all, designers create all manner of prototypes, and mythical potentates from Dubai are always rumoured to be buying them.}}<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6664 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/uiiyu.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Yet in this case, the factory is up and running and ready to take your deposit money.<br \/>\nThe recreational vehicle, or RV, is the eleMMent Palazzo \u2013 the capitalisation an allusion to its maker, the Austria-based Marchi Mobile, founded by former trucking magnate Mario Marchi.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6670 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/87tb.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6662 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/wea.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>This mobile mansion will be built on the chassis of a DAF XF105, a  rectilinear semi-truck that is ubiquitous on European highways, with aVolvo engine for easy servicing. That trucking technology is essential, as there will be a hefty payload of marble, rose gold and hubris to haul around once Marchi Mobile locates a buyer for its Leviathan.<\/p>\n<p>The Palazzo\u2019s sweeping lines, a heroic attempt at making a brick appear aerodynamic, were originally penned by Luigi Colani, the irascible eighty-something father of so-called biodynamic industrial design, whose organically bulbous aesthetic has been channelled into vehicles for Fiat, Alfa Romeo and BMW. Colani\u2019s trademarks are still in evidence, but the expanse behind the cab is given over to the client\u2019s every indulgence and whim.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6669 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/cxdf.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6665 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/nijy.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6671 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/ewwasd.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Functionally, the Palazzo has a slide-out room not unlike those found on nicer trucking rigs, but it also offers a \u201cSky Lounge\u201d, replete with banquette seating that rises out of the body to create a rooftop nightclub, complete with mood-lit canopy, audio system and wet bar. It is essentially a sky bridge, the likes of which might be spotted  bobbing off Cannes or in the harbour at the Monaco Grand Prix, making the Palazzo \u2013 indisputably and unironically \u2013 a land yacht.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6663 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/ww-12.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6666 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/yui.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6667 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/iui.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Marchi Mobile has produced several custom vehicles atop this platform, including a rolling health clinic and self-contained mobile showrooms. The company expects the bulk of its future commissions to come in its Viva line, a \u201cjet on wheels\u201d concept that brings Gulfstream-calibre finishes down to terra firma.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6668 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/iu-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-6672 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/eewa.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>The world tour of these products will make North American landfall in early 2015.
