{"id":14695,"date":"2014-05-29T10:44:29","date_gmt":"2014-05-29T10:44:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/ecowas-leaders-to-meet-in-accra-tomorrow\/"},"modified":"2014-05-29T10:43:31","modified_gmt":"2014-05-29T10:43:31","slug":"ecowas-leaders-to-meet-in-accra-tomorrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/ecowas-leaders-to-meet-in-accra-tomorrow\/","title":{"rendered":"ECOWAS Leaders to Meet in Accra Tomorrow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{Heads of State and Governments of the West African sub-region are expected to attend a one-day Extraordinary Session on Friday, 30th May, in Accra.}}<\/p>\n<p>The meeting would be chaired by President John Dramani Mahama, in his capacity as the current Chair of the ECOWAS Heads of State and Government.<\/p>\n<p>The one-day summit is the first to be hosted by President Mahama since his election in February this year as Chair of ECOWAS.  <\/p>\n<p>The discussions are expected to focus on issues of mutual and urgent concern, including the security situations in northern Mali and parts of Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama is scheduled to open the Session with a welcome address, to be followed by a statement from President of the ECOWAS Commission, Mr. Kadr\u00e9 D\u00e9sir\u00e9 Ouedraogo.  <\/p>\n<p>The leaders will then enter into closed-door deliberations and a Final Communiqu\u00e9 is expected at the end of the one-day meeting.  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-5887 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/mdr.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{{Heads of State and Governments of the West African sub-region are expected to attend a one-day Extraordinary Session on Friday, 30th May, in Accra.}} The meeting would be chaired by President John Dramani Mahama, in his capacity as the current Chair of the ECOWAS Heads of State and Government.
