Rwanda peacekeepers persuaded them to sit together and resolve their differences peacefully, which was done and yielded good results. <\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019They achieved a peaceful agreement on 12 March 2014 whereby all parties committed to stop wars and promote peace and reconciliation process\u2019\u2019 according to a report from Rwanda contingent in Saraf Omra, Darfur. <\/p>\n

The ethnic groups that were in conflicts include among others Lezagad, Tama, Gemil and Arab Militians known as JJWD.<\/p>\n

Rwanda peacekeepers met with representatives of these communities and local leaders and used Koran to convince them to opt for peace. <\/p>\n

However Internal Displaced People are facing different challenges such as medical treatment, homes destroyed as consequences of the conflicts in the area.<\/p>\n

Rwanda peacekeepers are assisting the IDPs by providing them security, medical treatment and potable water. They have also mobilized NGO\u2019s for Humanitarian assistance. <\/p>\n

WFP positively responded to the call and distributed food to the IDPs who are still reluctant to return to their villages because they need more assurance for their security.<\/p>\n
